GE Peer Review Presentations
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency conceptualized the Hudson River dredging project in two phases. The first phase, or first year, of dredging was performed last year. EPA planned the second phase of the project, which they anticipated would take five years to complete, would begin after an independent panel of experts evaluated the first phase of the project and made recommendations to EPA on how the project could be improved. GE made its second presentation to this panel of experts in May. GE's presentation focused on the lessons learned during the first phase of the project and the improvements that could be made to the work to ensure EPA's environmental goals for the project are met. An introductory session of the peer review panel was held in February 2010 and GE provided presentations on the resuspension of PCBs during dredging, the PCBs left on the river bottom after dredging and the rate that dredging was performed. Click on an image below to see the presentations.
