Opportunities for Local Businesses

How to Participate

To ensure local employers, including restaurant owners and retailers, that are interested in providing services and materials for the Hudson River Dredging Project are identified, GE has developed the following initiatives:

>> To Help Local Retailers, Professionals, Restaurateurs, Community Groups and Others:
GE is distributing community guides with information about local businesses, attractions and events to employees of our contractors working on the project. We want the people who work on the dredging project to get to know the Upper Hudson community better. We hope they will patronize local businesses. To encourage them to do so, we are providing them with packets of community information that include brochures, menus, calendars and other materials that local businesses have provided to us. If you would like to distribute information about your business to our contractors' employees, click here to contact a GE Hudson River community representative.

>> To Help Local Subcontractors, Suppliers and Vendors:
The project requires a mix of qualified national and local contractors. These contractors need various materials, services, and supplies - from concrete, to fuel, to paper supplies. To help businesses participate in the project, GE developed an online marketplace at www.hudsonworks.net. Here, subcontractors, suppliers and vendors are invited to provide a description of their business, capabilities, products, services and experience, professional affiliations and professional references. The Web site is easy to use and submitting information is free of charge.
