Eagles Soaring Along The Upper Hudson

In cooperation with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, GE regularly monitors the presence of bald eagles along the Upper Hudson River. In the Spring of 2025, we observed 11 active eagle nests in the 40-mile stretch between the riverside communities of Fort Edward and Troy – the most since our monitoring began 25 years ago. We have observed as many as 19 bald eagles on a single day, bringing an added air of regalness to the already majestic landscape. This incredible photo was taken near Fort Edward by wildlife photographer Gordon Ellmers.
